Beautiful venue, great course and My Man Mickie was awesome – he gave me a fantastic ride.  Dressage late on Thursday afternoon and back early Friday morning for show jumping at 8.30am and then cross country an hour later.   Mickie very on his toes in the show jumping warm up – but then went in the arena, focused and jumped a lovely clear round.  On to the cross country a ‘meaty’ course with lots of questions, he took it all on with confidence and jumped a great clear round.

Love competing at Nunney – My Man Mickie was a star placed 7th in his third novice class on Friday – 33 dressage and a double clear.  So sad the tragic news today from Nunney our thoughts are with you all.http://

Busy weekend and a great event at Farley Hall both novice and pre novice courses big,  bold and up to height – show jumping course also proved tricky for some.

Saturday – Novice.  My Man Mickie jumped his socks off show jumping – flew through the treble which was causing a lot of problems – just had 8 faults.  Cross country he took the course on and jumped round clear – must be his biggest test yet.

Sunday – Pre novice.  Dressage and show jumping went well – I was unsure what Dinah would make of the cross country it was a big ask as this was only her second pre novice, there were some big ditches which Dinah lacks experience at and can be a little sticky.   She started well and then lost confidence so decided to retire and wait for another day.  It was a fab course but not for a young inexperienced horse.

An early start on Saturday morning across the Severn Bridge and headed into Wales to Mount Ballan on a beautiful sunny day.  All Night Dinah’s first pre novice – 34 dressage, a good show jumping round, just showed her inexperience on the cross country course a little green at the combinations – just needed a little time to check it all out!  Now looking forward to the next event in a couple of weeks time.

Great weekend – Saturday My Man Mickie produced a double clear, really pleased with his dressage but unfortunately a plastic bag blowing across his arena spoiled a canter to walk transition and it became a canter to abrupt halt transition which lost him a few marks.  He was just out of the placings coming a very respectable 11th.  Next event going up a grade to Novice.

Sunday was the turn of All Night Dinah –  she performed a 33.5 test with a good double clear within the time which placed her 4th in her section – next trip out going to try a BE~100.
